BERG & BERG
WOODEN FLOORS

Berg & Berg wooden flooring is easy to lay and being surface treated before it leaves the factory, can be used immediately after laying. Problems associated with the smell of varnish or sanding dust simply do not arise. You can choose between two surface treatments with different characteristics. Both comply with the highest Berg & Berg standards of quality and are a match for even the most demanding situations in the home.

The difference between varnishing and oil treatment lies in the appearance and sense of warmth each creates. They also vary in terms of maintenance and care.

VARNISHED FINISH

Containing no solvents or fomaidehyde, the silk-matt varnished finish is dirt repellent and hard-wearing, and provides the utmost protection for your high quality wooden floors.

High-grade Berg & Berg varnish treatment makes the wooden floor particularly easy to care for.

Vacuum cleaning and occasional washing are all that is required. In cases of particularly heavy use, the varnished surface can also be protected with a suitable floor polish.

If, after years, it needs renovation - no problem. Thanks to a 4 mm (approx.) thick surface layer made of sawn, solid wood boards, Berg & Berg wood flooring can be sanded and re-varnished over and over again.

Please note, we do not use any colour pigments in our varnish. After all, what could be more beautiful than the warm colour of the wood itsel+

OILED FINISH

An oiled finish emphasizes the natural character of the wooden floor to a more marked extent.
The oil penetrates deep into the wood,
giving it long lasting protection. The wood also absorbs moisture,
which it gives off again when needed. It is able to breathe, and thus contributes to an improvement in the atmosphere in the room.

Those who prefer this particularly natural form of treatment will also accept that it demands a certain amount of care. For daily cleaning, vacuuming or brushing is sufficient.

During the early weeks and thereafter at intervals
(depending on use),
it should be wet cleaned with floor cleaning soap.
This will not only clean the floor but also effectively protect it against becoming dirty.
If the floor is to be heavily used,
we recommend initial treatment with oil, which should then be repeated once or twice a year to
restore its appearance.
You will find that this is well worthwhile.

If cared for in this way, oil treated wooden floors are not only extremely hard-wearing but also become increasingly beautiful with the passing years.
